This page is not kept up to date. It is here for historical reference, mostly.

This show list is stored in a MySQL database and is displayed using PHP 4.01

Picture of site admin, Tom, at Phish NYE 2000.

What I used to think: coolest part about this database is XML files generated by a little program I wrote. This program turns a TapeTracker database into XML which is then parsed by a php script and added into the database.  This is how the database is updated with new shows and changeds shows.  For changed shows, an update statment is generated from the xml, for new shows, an insert.

What I think now: This site has the potential to become huge. I have been working with the Hamilton's of SHN list fame to move their detailed data into this site. Once this is complete (any time now) I can see this site becoming very popular.

The 'what I used to think' section is only useful for adding new artists now. I seeded this site with about 40,000 set lists and have since added the ability for users to add and maintain set lists. This ability gives the site the power of self government / maintenance, but it's still a monarchy as I'm the sys admin.

Suggestions for the site are always welcome.

Sorry for not getting back to you in under a month and a half, I was going
through my inbox (what a mess) and came across this email that I never
followed up on.

I am very interested in trying to manage my CD collection by using a robust
DB management tool like Access or MySQL. Currently, I'm just keeping my
list using HTML, and frankly, it sucks. :)

To give you an example of the style of formatting I'm going after, check out
http://cyberial.com/list.html.

I'm very interested in trying to work with this and making it available as a
free public utility for the etree community. Let me know if you are willing
to take on this project. I have very little experience in Access, and even
less in MySQL, but can learn quick. :)

Have a great holiday season!
