Notes: source: cass[M]>DAT>cdr>flac notes: This master came with the tracks badly indexed and some portions missing and some repeated even. There is about 30 secs of audience missing before Sheep compared to the 2nd gen and a small half a second gap twords the end of the track that is not on the 2nd gen. There was also a piece of Echoes at the end of this tape from somewhere, I didn't check it out. The good news is that this is better sounding than the 2nd gen (IMO) that was floating around and there is no fade during WYWH like on the 2nd gen. There was a repeated track of WttM that faded out at the end of Disc 1 which I completely scrapped and seemlessly merged the other version from Disc 2 to the end of SOYCD Pts. I-IV. I edited using Adobe Audition 1.5 and re-indexed in cdwav. There is absolutely no music loss and no sound modification was done.

Notes: source: audience/cass[2]>DAT[?]>CDR[?]>EAC>WAV>FLAC tot length: 113:37 overall: VG+ notes: sounds much crispier than the versions circulating but also more rough (squeaks a lot at times). notes as they came with the files: During 'Sheep', you can hear the taper moving his mic around and adjusting record volume. Unfortunately, he set too high, and there is quite a bit of saturation during the loudest parts of the songs, which can be partially corrected. I rate it a VG- for that reason, but it should be rated higher after clean-up. There is a delay after 'Dogs', which leads to a bit of clapping by the audience. Which is not unusual, for the second show of a new tour. Roger very clearly yells "two" at 4:30 into 'Pigs (3DO)'. There is also a cut, faded, during the opening bars of 'Wish You Were Here'.

Notes: Info file says, "This is the second night of Pink Floyd's 1977 "In The Flesh" tour. In these early performances, the band does not show the "tiredness" of the later "In The Flesh" shows. Roger shouts 2 during Pigs 3DO. To my ears, this show sounds a little fast. Lineage is CD-R -> EAC -> WAV -> mkwACT -> FLAC."

For once the artwork does not mention a limited number of copies. I did a quick check about the sources, and the above mentioned lineage is only speculative, it's what I made out of it, but I'm quite sure of my guess. I couldn't make out if the 01-23 gig was from the claimed master (126:32) or from the longer first gen (131:52). Probably it's from the first gen since it's 128:27, or a mix. Of course thsi is assuming it's from the 3rd taper of that night, but I have no doubt about it. The sound is radically different (and superior) to the 1st recorder, and the 2nd one is incomplete, so... There was only one taper for the 01-24 show, and the timing of this Sirene releases matches perfectly the timing of the 2nd gen transfer (a little over 113min). There's a little longer (119min) 1st gen source also circulating, but I don't think this was the source for the Sirene discs. Again nice packaging and cool idea of Sirene to release the two Dortmund nights, opening of the 1977 In The Flesh Tour, in one box set. But booh bad bad idea to sell it! Good sounding and pleasure listen, but since the same untouched sources are also circulating, you might also want to get the real deal instead (and for free).
