Notes: Liberated boot - "Another Tracks of 'Kind of Blue'". In the Spring of 1959, seven musicians got together in a converted church on 30th Street Manhattan and made jazz history. Over forty years has passed since Miles Davis assembled his famed sextet to record "Kind of Blue" and in that time the album has risen to the level of masterpiece. Still selling over 5,000 copies a week it is considered the bible by many jazz musicians and revered as one of the most important albums of the century. How did an effort that all its participants dismiss as just another day in the studio become a musical and cultural landmark? "Another Tracks of 'Kind of Blue'" gives listeners the unprecedented opportunity to enter the 30th Street studios and witness the creation of this remarkable album. Bill Evans (Piano), Julian Adderley (Alto Sax), John Coltrane (Tenor Sax), Jimmy Cobb (Drums), Paul Chambers (Bass), Wynton Kelly (Piano on Freddie Freeloader only). Tracks 1 - 14 recorded 03/02/59 2:30pm to 5:30 pm and 7:00pm to 10:00pm and tracks 15 - 26 recorded 04/22/59 2:30pm to 5:30pm. Great stuff! Thanks Tony
