Though I've used one before, I was not completely comfortable with it. I didn't realize that the headphone amp distorts as much as it did, so I kept thinking there was something wrong with either my Lunatec or the ADC-20, so I kept fiddling with levels. I have done my best to clean those up, but in the interests of non- disclosure, there is a little bit of digital amplification on some tracks. If you haven't heard earthworks before, don't take this as a measure of what they can do. My unfamiliarity with the D8's headphone amp prevented me from making adjustments...
