Pigs on the Wing (I + II) specs shn format, 2 cd SQ EX http://floyd.westminstercollege.edu/viewer/details.cfm?id=972 This is the last known recording of Careful With That Axe, Eugene #7 in Top 10 Pink Floyd shows of all time, according to the Pink FLoyd database: http://pinkroioshn.myftp.org/index.php?list=bs This show is the best of the best, absolutely fantastic from top to bottom. And I'm not just saying that because I was the seed... Ed Paule's complete release notes are below: Oh, the storied history of Animal Instincts... Ron Toon released AI (rev0) to the world sometime during the last millennia. Long before Harvested had a QA department. It was my discussions with Ron concerning the clicks, pops, and other glitches in AI (rev0) that led to my joining the team. One of my earliest contributions was to deglitch AI and the first rev A edition was released. As the years went by, a much lower generation source for this show emerged. My first knowledge of its existance was the RoIO Mr Pig. Although the SQ on Mr Pig was better than AI (you can hear many subtleties not detectable on AI revA), Mr Pig had other problems, like clipping, gaps during the tape flips, unbalanced, etc. So the thoughts of doing a rev B began. That was two years ago... About six months ago, we decided to do it. We got another source, a better source than Mr Pig. One that didn't have the clipping problem. Then Marc-Olivier went to work. Marc-Oliver spent quite sometime remastering this new source and expertly patching the tape flips. Then it was my turn. I recently finished doing the deglitching and sent a copy to Richard to start the weed. So here it is! Animal Instincts rev B (HRV-CDR-014) Pink Floyd recorded live at the Oakland Coliseum May 9, 1977. For me, the highlight of this show is SoYCD6-9. It's the best version of this song ever. For those of you that already own a copy of AI, you know that a bonus track is included at the end of disc two. This being the studio version of Pigs on the Wing with Snowy White prviding a bridge between the two parts. AI rev0 and revA simple included a copy of this song as it was released on Snowy White's Goldtop CD. Well... We've changed this too for AI revB. Now you have the original version (the Pink Floyd mix) as it appeared on the original 8-track tapes, transferred to digital direct from an original 8-track tape. This version is different than the Goldtop version (the Snowy mix). Enjoy! Harvested is proud to once again providethe definitive edition of this classic performance.

Notes: | Pink Floyd 8mm - Harvested Records (HRV DVD 009) I discovered most of these 8mm films over 20 years ago and have enjoyed watching my low gen VHS copies ever since. When I began archiving my collection onto DVD, I knew that one day I'd be faced with the task of digitally remastering these old 8mm films. I was fortunate enough to know the person that purchased the original films of the Hollywood Bowl and LA Sports Arena which were professionally transferred to S-VHS tape in the late 80's. This person was kind enough to loan me his master which I captured and used as the source for this DVD. I wish I could say that the Vienna footage was any better than what has been in circulation, but there's a good chance that those videos used mine as a source anyway. The short Anaheim 77 footage and the newly surfaced Munich 77 footage round this collection off nicely. There's not much available in regards to video footage from 1972-1977 (a very significant time in the band's history, especially in regards to live performance), so hopefully this will fill in a few of the gaps for the time being. Every single shot is not in perfect synch, and some artistic license has been applied throughout. I also chose to end the DVD with the Munich footage, opting to stray from the actual chronological order. 8mm took me two years to finish, working in my spare time, and frequently getting frustrated and stuck. I replaced all the audio from the original footage that had live sound (LA 75, Vienna 77) and synched up the correct audio to the rest, which was never properly done until now. Notes: | From text file: This two CD set features a complete show from the 1977 Animals tour (aka 'In The Flesh' tour). It's notable for it's very good performance and the rare encore of 'Careful With That Axe, Eugene'. A song that hadn't been played for a few years at that time and has never ever been played since then. 'Roger Waters' shows some real venom in 'Pigs' and 'Shine On You Crazy Diamond, pt.VI-XI' features some outstanding jamming which cannot be heard on the original studio recording. It's an audience recording but of such good quality that this show has been bootlegged many times. Titles like 'Oakland Coliseum', 'Plays the Animals' and 'In The Flesh' are among the most popular and common boots. This release however is being brought on the 'Harvested' label. The people behind Harvested, have made it their mission to improve existing boots into something better. The sound on this release is superiour to all those other bootlegs and probably you won't find any better source. The bonus track 'Pigs On The Wing' is a studio recording but not as can be found on the 'Animals' album. In the mid-seventies there was a format called 8-track. A kind of tape that could be played continously. In order to seague from the end of the tape back to the beginning the band recorded a version where 'Pigs On The Wing, pt.1' and Pigs On The Wing, pt.2' were bridged by a guitar solo. The solo however is not played by Dave Gilmour but by Snowy White.
