The Weight Comments: Bob Weir & Phil Lest guests I went to this show and it was amazing. Bruce and the band did their usual 2 hour show, then Bob and Phil came out and played another hour with Hornsby. This was the first time Phil had played in public since Jerry died. Weir had popped up from time to time but this was the first anyone had seen of Phil and the crowd was THRILLED when Bruce brought him out. It also was the night Phil first hooked up and played so sympatically with John Molo, Bruce's drummer at the time, who became the drummer when Phil started doing Phil And Friends shows and remains in the drum chair in The Quintet to this day. This really was a historic night that showed there still was life in the old beast after all.

Notes: | [shn id = 95669] Setlist states, "Here is another nice mid 90's DSBD of Bruce, w/ Bobby & Phil making a lengthy cameo. Some nice tight playing by Bruce and band, then it loosens up a bit for the Weir/Lesh segment...There is some SBD interference (NOT digi-noise) during d1,t3 & t4. I've heard 3 different copies of this recording and they all have this flaw, so I'm guessing it was inherent in the board that night. It's not all that bad, but certainly noticeable and worth noting. However, the rest of the recording is very sharp." FLAC[max200a]
