Notes: set 1 aud, set 2 sbd via cotsman - complete. [2005-09-23] I'm just reviewing the set 2 sbd portion here. A better aud source has surfaced (Moore recording). Set 2 starts with a few warm-up tunes (Smson, IMHBTR). The PITB > Wheel > Jam (Take 5 theme) > CAT > Dancin' > NFA > Dancin' > Round is very good, especially the Jam into CAT. I'd say set 2 on this date is a "must hear once". Mix and sound are fine.

Notes: aud - set 1 is boomy on the bass. Nothing much happens until the final Scarlet, TMNS the former is good and the latter revs up the energy by not dispensing with the tune but repeating the chorus. Set 2 is from a different aud source which is better, more treble. Samson is to the point, short but energetic. IMHBTR sets up the ensuing transcendent PITB. At ~14 to the drums, this version has a light airy feeling with smooth shifts throughout. Definitely worth hearing once. Then the fun starts. After listening to 10/1,2/76, my expectations were low for this show, but for whatever reason, they pull out a jam/segue fest that made me want to leave this set in the cd player a while to follow the ins-outs and ups-downs. Basically, this set is one of the highlights of 76 in my book. Check out the little jams betwen the main song markers, stick in a Comes A Time and a China Cat tease almost at the end and you have the ingredients for a great listen. So this would be on my "must hear 76" list.
