Notes: FOB Audience - clamped to front center of Loge / B&K 4021s - tracks not on sectors. the taper didn't like the way these sounded but I thought it was fine (meaning I can't detect anything other than the sbe's that is the fault of the taper). Check out the jam at the end of d3t2! This really caught my attention. Bobby's first set is very good high energy (he should have left out the comment about the difficulty of a playing a slow song after a fast one which breaks the transition). I always like Osby playing sax so set 2 was a special treat. Even LA Fadeaway sounded good.
Matt Vernon (1/4.8) SHN / 3 B B- View 6470
Notes: Sound Pro AT6 by Jamphan - Sound is distant, vocals seem very low in mix, little bass?? In general a grade down from other shows in sound quality. Show highlights Bobby songs. Rumors say Warren feeling sick, so didn't play on a few songs. Show energy a grade lower than typical.
Matt Vernon (1/4.8) SHN / 3 A- B+ View 6496
Notes: FOB orchestra center AKG - Best sounding version for this date IMO. Show shines when Osby is on stage - several "groovy" jams with Phil's bass complementing everyone else's playing very nicely.
Matt Vernon (1/4.8) SHN / 3 A- A- View 6657
Notes: MBHO603a Loge Center - Ehrsam source - pretty good sound. Up there with the best tapes i've heard for this night
Matt Vernon (1/4.8) AVI / 3 View
Notes: AVI video of set 2 and encore - because of the avi format, need the divx codec and the image size is small. this is too bad because the stability and video look good.
