Matt Vernon (1/4.8) SHN / 1 A+ A/B View 9776
Notes: this source has some cassette gens but doesn't suffer from the many "tape decay" drop outs of the Weiner source. This show is WAY COOL!. The playing on this night has so many subtle and not so subtle to standard play that I can't list them here. set 2 is so engaging. Eyes has a Phil bass/drum combo that's very tasty and melodic that segues into Happiness is Drumming, the only time it was ever played. It is a great tune. Wharf Rat has great feedback. The whole show is great and so unusual. You can't go wrong with it.
Matt Vernon (1/4.8) MISSING / 2 A B+ View 9776
Notes: Noah Weiner seed - not as hissy as my seed but has many small amplitude drops that impart a warble on headphones - very nice and unusual show
Matt Vernon (1/4.8) SHN / 3 A A- View 18388
Notes: Shure 545 aud recording via Bob Wagner. This is the best sounding recording for this date and is a different source than my or Noah Weiner's previous seeds. You should get this show to listen to the Eyes > Phil Bass Jam > Happiness is Drumming start of set 2. [9/19/2005] I listened to this one again. The Scarlet from set 1 stood out as having some nice Garcia embellishments, as did the following Lazy > Supp. Set 2 is just one long continuous great set of music. Definitely on my "you should hear this once" list. Can't say enough. Its also a night where Jerry leaves by saying "See you'all later". This sparsely used comment by Jerry is a signal to me of when he thought it was a good set/show.
