Notes: This message came with it: ????? I recieved this show from a server on Etree. I created this set list and noticed that tracks 4 and 8 are identical. I cannot find the real setlist from anywhere and so I left both tracks on. I am sure it is in the setlist, but do not know when in the order,...either 4th or 8th. This is the way I recieved it and so I am passing it on just the way I got it.

Notes: Bob Marley & The Wailers November 30, 1979 Oakland Auditorium Arena Oakland, California, USA From 1st gen. VHS video. The soundboard audio is very good to excellent sound quality and an improvement over previously circulating copies. This version is the complete show at the best available sound quality and includes two splices from an alternate soundboard source (approximately 30 seconds in Ambush In The Night and 54 seconds at the beginning of Lively Up Yourself). disc 1 - main set - 79:53 01 [5:32] Positive Vibration 02 [5:28] Wake Up And Live 03 [5:06] Concrete Jungle 04 [3:38] Them Belly Full 05 [4:57] I Shot The Sheriff 06 [5:12] Running Away > 07 [3:52] Crazy Baldheads 08 [3:56] Ambush In The Night 09 [4:59] Heathen 10 [4:10] War > 11 [1:49] No More Trouble 12 [7:28] No Woman No Cry 13 [5:45] Lively Up Yourself 14 [4:46] Africa Unite 15 [4:02] One Drop 16 [9:13] Exodus > applause at end of main set disc 2 - encores (with guest Ron Wood on rhythm guitar) - 31:19 01 [1:19] encore break 02 [3:35] Is This Love? > 03 [5:16] Jammin' 04 [4:21] Ride Natty Ride 05 [3:59] Roots Rock Reggae > 06 [3:54] Natty Dread > 07 [8:55] Get Up Stand Up Band lineup * Bob Marley, vocals, rhythm guitar * Aston Barrett, bass * Carlton Barrett, drums * Junior Marvin, lead guitar * Al Anderson, lead guitar * Tyrone Downie, keyboards * Earl "Wya" Lindo, organ * Alvin 'Seeco' Patterson, percussion * Devon Evans, percussion * Glen DaCosta, saxophone * Dave Madden, trumpet * The I-Threes, backing vocals * Donald Kinsey, lead guitar [listed on web site quoted from below but not introduced on the recording] * Ron Wood, rhythm guitar [on the encores] Lineage and transfer: VHS tape (1st gen. copy from Bill Graham Archives master) > Sony WV-DR7 > Sony DVMC-DA2 Media Converter (DV Hardware Codec Converter) > Final Cut Pro > Pro Tools ("nip and tuck" edits, normalization, plus a few level changes and minor clicks seamlessly removed. No Equalization or noise reduction). Secondary source: Unknown lineage soundboard recording from the "Africa '80" bootleg (from Flac files sent by a fellow dimer - THANKS!) > xACT decoding to AIFF > Pro Tools extraction (with speed match). More info. from http://www.bobmarleyconcerts.com/1979.php Introductions * "Jah Rastafari, who liveth and reigneth I'n'I itinually ever fearful, ever sure. Jah Rastafari! Jah Rastafari! Jah Rastafari! And I would say, it's the Rastaman Vibration, and it's positive!" - Marley before "Positive Vibration" * "This is a track from the new album, Survival! This track is entitled «Wake Up And Live»! Come on, eh! - Marvin before "Wake Up And Live" * "Africa unites! Come on, Africa! Heh, hands to unite, unite for the wise[?] of people, you know." - Marvin before "Africa Unite" * "Listen!" - Marley before Ride Natty Ride * "Yeah! His foundation is in the holy mountains, Jah loveth the gates of Zion!" - Marley before "Get Up, Stand Up" Review * the video soundtrack comes from a black & white video filmed by the promoter Bill Graham Presents. * the encores feature Ron Wood on guitar from The Rolling Stones. * guest appearance of Donald Kinsey on guitar. * dub effects were used during this performance. * extra lyrics from "Simmer Down" during the beginning of "Running Away". * rare 1979 performance of "Roots, Rock, Reggae". * Marvin's intro before "Africa Unite" confused some people to think the recording was from one of the concerts in Libreville, Gabon. * parts of the concert are regularly aired on Wolfgang's Vault Radio. * the SBD source has been used for several mislabeled bootlegs like Live in Africa, In Gabon, Africa '80. Enjoy and SHARE!
