Notes: port chester project #2 - Recorded by Ken & Judy Lee on a Sony 124 cassette deck with Sony dynamic mics on a Norelco 120 normal bias tape. Microphones were set up in the balcony with a 20 foot spread. Note: some "noise reduction" was used so it has loss of high end. I personally prefer to live with hiss, but apparently the people doing these new xfers are reluctant to release a straight xfer w/o NR or eq applied. [2007-09-03]Interesting selist - 1st Walkin' the Dog, last He Was a Friend of Mine, and last version of The Seven. How about this for the unusual segue dept: Viola Lee Blues > The Seven > Cumberland Blues. SOund quality is very listenable. The VLB starts out strong. However, once the curiosity over the setlist is experienced, the performance lacks staying power.
Matt Vernon (1/4.8) SHN / 1 A- A- View 20184
Notes: This is a version of the Ken Lee source that doesn't have any NR (via David Minches). [2007-09-07]This has some tasty nuggets worth hearing - 1st thre is a fun Walkin The dog, and then a VLB > 7 Jam > Cumberland that kicks. Worth checking out.
