It turned up within the past couple of years and up until fairly recently had only limited circulation amongst a few collectors. It is taken directly from the master. This is exactly how the recording came to me on CDR. There has been another source for this show circulating in poorer quality for a number of years now and you will often find it wrongly listed as being from the Jan 19th show at the Liederhalle, Stuttgart. That source lasts only 28 minutes and is missing Voodoo Chile. ************************** Do not encode to MP3 ************************** Pass It On.

Notes: Jimi Hendrix Experience - Sporthalle, Koln, Germany. 13th January 1969 (master) / Jahrhunderhalle, Frankfurt, Germany. 17th January 1969 (master) Two Experience concerts from the European tour of January 1969. Both in their own ways rather good audience recordings considering their age _but_ they are audience recordings. I've included a cover to house both shows - (does anyone actually use the covers?) Notes: DVD 465; lineage: Unknown audience recording. Turns out this is the same show which used to be known as Stuttgart, 1/19/69. The tape called Stuttgart only runs 25 minutes, plus it's rough and choppy. This tape is much more complete, much more listenable, and for once it's got the correct date.

Notes: corrected file track 04 During Red House, from 4:23.4 - 4:23.7, there's a bit of music overlaid on top of the normal music "this is the newly-circulating tape, and you're gonna love it. audience recording, great quality. this is the show formerly know as Stuttgart. the old Stuttgart tape was apparently mis-identified, since it's the same show (although an incomplete recording) as the new Cologne, which is definitely known to be from 13 Jan. so we gain a show but lose a show :-) but this is almost like a new performance, the quality is so much better than the old "Stuttgart". it's also more complete, with more songs and more complete versions of some existing songs. the pitch-corrected source runs 56+ minutes." Wills Comments - I compaired this show to the Stuggart 1-19-69 from my copy of the set "Jimi in Germany" There is no doubt that these are from the same show. At the start of the 1st source you get 20 seconds not found on the new 2nd source. This new 2nd Source starts with Jimi saying "Well l'd like ta' Before We Start Playing We'd like for you to forget about everything that happened outside this Arena -cut- But You must listen though ok ? can you do that ? right and then it will take about 30 seconds before we start ok ? Thank you for showing up Thank you for coming "Come On" Starts in much better quaity then the 1st source 2 notches up perhaps. at the end of come on there is a cut on the new source not present on the 1st source but not much of interest is lost it's just smoother on the 1st source Red House is but an incomplete sample on the 1st source. Here it is finally available nearly complete. there is a skip in the tape at 1:51 that I would have cut out but to keep things pure and original, I made no changes to the files I recieved. It's a Killer new Red House and it's 12 mins long. at about 7:45 there is a very familuar riff that someone will know right away but it's just not there for me now.... it's something that popped up in the studio later but I can't pin it down. Voodoo Child is here with and Intro it's a very good version. there is however a gap present in the tape at 5:28 thru to 5:31 this is true to the original data files I received. as I said, I did not alter anything. Next up is Fire and I believe there is a tape cut here too. the intro to the next song is smooth and I don't think there is any cut between Fire and Spanish Castle Magic Spanish Castle Magic is Awesome and it has a nice clean 1,2,3,4, count in at the cue for the track. Once again the next track has no intro Hey Joe At the end of this cut thre is an extra line only heard on the 1st source! the new source cuts after Jimi says "We Don't Know The Words" and on the 1st source he is heard to continue "So We'll Do An Instrumental" Sunshine of Your Love The Star Spangled Banner Purple Haze on the 1st source of PH there is a cut at 2:56 that is not present here on the new source. listen for the line "Girl Put A Spell On Me" A Great new Find and certianly something everyone will want Peace and Love, -Will
