A 8/07 note posted by jamhead64 "long story short cause its all over the place.... got the tapes a few years back from a friend who was a doorman in NYC.... one of the people who lived in the building had a son who worked with VH early on in their career.... father had a bunch of his sons things at his place and gave the tapes to my friend. this friend put them in a box and put them away for years. one time when i was in town he pulled them out and passed them along to me saying something about them not sounding that good. not sure i agree with him at all on that, but he is not a fan of live recordings. anyways i transfered the tapes the best way i could at the time, hence the MD conversion. these are not soundboard, but were done by somebody who was traveling/working for van halen during that tour. recently borrowed a denon DRM-800 and may be doing new transfers of all the shows."
