Here's the video companion to the previously released audio version of this performance. Recorded from the nosebleeds, just right of center. We already described the crowd situation in the audio torrent. People were up and down in our row. That explains why some of this footage is blacked out and why other parts look blurry, choppy or like they were taken with a seizure-cam. We were in the upper level, so the closest you'll get to seeing the band's faces are the shots on their own big screen. The zoom was not used heavily because this drains the cam battery faster and you sacrifice resolution. This is not a prize-winning document by any means, but rather a fun souvenir for fans and a memento of Diamond Dave's birthday in the Rock 'n Roll capitol (where the band was inducted earlier this year).
Almost all songs are represented. The video camera's battery was only good for one hour. Alternate footage was taken with the Powershot A540 to fill the gaps. The day after the show, I spliced those song segments into their proper running order. So yes, you get a few abrupt cuts from the end of one song into the beginning of another. It's the closest you'll get to a complete show unless someone else coughs up tour footage. The only songs not featured at all here are So This Is Love, Little Dreamer, Drum Solo, Ain't Talkin' Bout Love, Jump, and the climax of Eruption (sorry!) |
