Introduction d1t02. Hackensack d1t03. 'Round Midnight d1t04. Now's the Time ------------------------------------------------------- Notes: - No digital treatment such as noise reduction or EQ was applied - Transfer and editing information by Milesain - There is a dropout at 4:32 on d1t03 - There is a big digizap at 6:24 on d1t04 - The sound is good on this recording.A slight hiss is present, but very minimal. A fine piece of history. - "This is the Newport Jazz Festival at which Davis is supposed to have made such a remarkable comeback, but remember that few of the excellent late-1954 recordings had been released at the time. Davis was added at the last minute to this All-Star jam session; they appeared after the Count Basie Orchestra and before the Dave Brubeck Quartet. Probably on the strengths of his performance here, Davis was soon approached by George Avakian, who offered him a recording contract with Columbia Records." - Credit to Peter Losin,http://www.plosin.com/ - QC done by bgreen md5 eef22b6f159e6933de3bc9d5e98dc280 *md1955-07-17.LL1.d1t01.flac 6a22ce6dbf30ed97f25801a53bd93bef *md1955-07-17.LL1.d1t02.flac 743ec2142b7e119a4ac19b901711aefa *md1955-07-17.LL1.d1t03.flac 4c1d21343162d41a80e4546ebe8422d3 *md1955-07-17.LL1.d1t04.flac ffp md1955-07-17.LL1.d1t01.flac:55c417ce8e76042562c41e21e24d40e6 md1955-07-17.LL1.d1t02.flac:2ff30f995bc1d1ccd2b6f1669c367dcf md1955-07-17.LL1.d1t03.flac:693bf02ca570f77e5f6d58a16789074e md1955-07-17.LL1.d1t04.flac:c3bf5a153aa2e9e2e09eba3f0b2463c0 st5 55c417ce8e76042562c41e21e24d40e6 [shntool] md1955-07-17.LL1.d1t01.flac 2ff30f995bc1d1ccd2b6f1669c367dcf [shntool] md1955-07-17.LL1.d1t02.flac 693bf02ca570f77e5f6d58a16789074e [shntool] md1955-07-17.LL1.d1t03.flac c3bf5a153aa2e9e2e09eba3f0b2463c0 [shntool] md1955-07-17.LL1.d1t04.flac shntool length expanded size cdr WAVE problems filename 1:19.28 14001500 --- -- ---xx md1955-07-17.LL1.d1t01.flac 7:54.50 83731244 --- -- ---xx md1955-07-17.LL1.d1t02.flac 6:06.46 64670636 --- -- ---xx md1955-07-17.LL1.d1t03.flac 8:31.34 90220412 --- -- ---xx md1955-07-17.LL1.d1t04.flac 23:52.08 252623792 B (totals for 4 files, 0.3924 overall compression ratio) spectral analysis from TLH md1955-07-17.LL1.d1t01.wav: track looks like CDDA with probability 100% md1955-07-17.LL1.d1t02.wav: track looks like CDDA with probability 99% md1955-07-17.LL1.d1t03.wav: track looks like CDDA with probability 92% md1955-07-17.LL1.d1t04.wav: track looks like CDDA with probability 86%
