Notes: Here's a really nice-sounding show that starlifter shared over at The Traders Den a while back. Although I'm not a huge Aerosmith fan by any stretch, it's an enjoyable listen for even the casual fan (like me) because it has their most well-known 70s hits. I thought there might be a good number of you who don't already have this show from the band's salad days. So here it is, for your enjoyment. My thanks again to starlifter for originally sharing it back in Sept. 2006 over at The Den. The series had been sponsored by F. & M. Schaefer Brewing Company (brewer of Schaefer Beer) until 1976 at which point it became The Dr. Pepper Central Park Music Festival when Dr. Pepper assumed sponsorship. Due to residential noise complaints the series of concerts was moved to Pier 84 on the West Side in 1981 and became the Dr. Pepper Music Festival through 1982 and in 1983 Miller took over sponsorship of this series and it became Miller Time Concert on The Pier through 1988. Renowned club owner and musician Hilly Kristal, who founded CBGB in 1973, co-founded the festival with producer and concert promoter Ron Delsener. The capacity of the Wollman Rink was usually limited to about 6,000 to 7,000 people, but it is reported that Bob Marley's performance in 1975 has attracted about 15,000 people. The festival was very popular, since tickets were cheap (from $1 in 1967 to $3 in 1976) and many superstars of the popular music scene have performed at the festival Source: Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schaefer_Music_Festival): MD5's: 4ef58fbcc2f8fab01403f5c441ddf324 *Aerosmith75-08-29-T01.shn f6ca0fc673056d9cd63d64684b90b7b2 *Aerosmith75-08-29-T02.shn 0b28efd6f99325df3a260d69491dbebe *Aerosmith75-08-29-T03.shn 2ecbdcfa1521f4266676e9ad9466c112 *Aerosmith75-08-29-T04.shn 1c368a99bbd92dbd0451914fb2af5c68 *Aerosmith75-08-29-T05.shn 7c770cbf1d5502ae418ad9847d626c86 *Aerosmith75-08-29-T06.shn bd48304e2b968048c72e2bb4870128a0 *Aerosmith75-08-29-T07.shn 911907f59cff7c708d55b62149c58c3e *Aerosmith75-08-29-T08.shn 38dfecfc1d7507401037c0d27d23ce28 *Aerosmith75-08-29-T09.shn 37b3714edfd9b723e8f726aebafcc277 *Aerosmith75-08-29-T10.shn ST5's: f803ddb14543c3c615b647cf5a39936a [shntool] Aerosmith75-08-29-T01.shn b3bf0c5ba253ab6b94aa2c3f2fba2c47 [shntool] Aerosmith75-08-29-T02.shn cbc42f20c82287777afc3a3513ff9536 [shntool] Aerosmith75-08-29-T03.shn 549fd9bce3d1f803d28378b3e01e4e94 [shntool] Aerosmith75-08-29-T04.shn 71b98a974c08f20d75c9e181b860168a [shntool] Aerosmith75-08-29-T05.shn 267f13f3e2d9a461070fd9e0b3f28558 [shntool] Aerosmith75-08-29-T06.shn 93d46d94ea2041312d74c3c4ad1de2d0 [shntool] Aerosmith75-08-29-T07.shn 448e35c511291b24608f3acd7fc8bb79 [shntool] Aerosmith75-08-29-T08.shn 22a83796ba7a5c60043fc04c0af4d1c3 [shntool] Aerosmith75-08-29-T09.shn ac24bb8fead170362df636a562fe45f9 [shntool] Aerosmith75-08-29-T10.shn No errors occured.
