Notes: First live Wilco show! I have no idea where I picked this up, or for that matter if it has been circulated. Yes, this is a SBD, but don't expect a whole lot in the way of fidelity. The mix is bad and there's a ton of amp buzz. All the same, how much fuss can be made when it's an actual recording of the first Wilco gig ever!

Their first show! Really energetic and exciting show, as it's their first show as Wilco as opposed to Uncle Tupelo. The recording levels are a bit dodgy at first (vocals really prominent, everything else distant) but gets better. It opens halfway through I Must Be High (all copies seem to do this). |

Notes: Show was billed as "Black Shampoo". This was Wilco's first ever show. This is missing about 5 or 6 songs that were played, presumably to fit on one CD. Source is soundboard. Sounds a little thin and there's a buzzing between songs, but that occured in the venue, not a result of the taping. Certainly not a bad recording, but more cool for its historical value. |
