Broadcast on WNEW. Set 1 is soundcheck, Radio broadcast and soundboard tapes - Probably one of the best all time concert recordings, this version from the Soundboard. Great version of Because The Night & Fire, and also includes what many consider to be the best versions of Racing In The Street and the best band Thunder Road ever! - Essential, Also broadcast live on the radio, and video footage is available. Released on CD "Piece De Resistance" (GDR) & "Southside Bruce And The E Street Jukes" (SEA)

| Notes: | 'Piece De Resistance' [Great Dane] - this is my pick for #1 GREATEST SPRINGSTEEN CONCERT OF ALL-TIME - comic book artist Arlen Schumer (who created the illustration for the marquee at The Capitol Theater in exchange for tickets) considers this recording to be Springsteen's "de facto live album" - the 'You Better Not Touch' bootleg CD guides state that this recording features the best ever version of "Racing in the Street" and the best "Thunder Road" caught on tape - also features rare versions of "Meeting Across the River" and "Kitty's Back" as well as killer versions of "Streets of Fire," "Because the Night," "Prove It All Night," "Backstreets," and "She's the One" - my original copy of this title succumbed to CD rot so I now have first generation clones of an original but unaffected set | |||||
