Notes: | set: Long Road, Last Exit, Animal, Hail Hail, Go, Red Mosquito, In My Tree, Corduroy, Better Man, Lukin, Mankind, Hunger Strike, Even Flow, Daughter/(Androgynous Mind)/(Noise of Carpet), Jeremy, Sometimes, Rearviewmirror, Immortality, Alive, Blood/(Fame)/(Suck You Dry) enc: Who You Are, State of Love and Trust, Not for You, Present Tense, Leaving Here, Yellow Ledbetter notes: This show was broadcast by many radio stations around the world, opening with a recording of John F. Kennedy's famous speech ("I am a Berliner"). After the first few songs, Ed asks, "How's everybody in Berlin tonight? For any of you are in the back and can't see, it's pretty damn packed in front is everybody OK? ... Do yourselves and everyone else a favor and watch out for your neighbor ... protect the women and children" leading to 'Red Mosquito.' After 'Lukin,' Stone steps up and says, "Alright, I'm gonna sing one," launching 'Mankind.' 'Hunger Strike is a nice surprise, with the crowd loudly singing along. Ed has a nice intro for 'Blood:' "Alright we'd like to say thanks, thanks for coming out, those of you lucky enough to get tickets ... We've had some interesting shows in Germany ... I remember every one of them, for good and bad, but actually this show is on the radio tonight so a bunch of other people were eavesdropping ... I fucked up quite a few times, thanks for covering up. This next song is called, 'I'll be glad when you're dead and gone, you bastard you', or 'this blood's for you.'" The encore begins with Ed chatting, "Thanks, very much. I don't know what to say so I'm just going to say, 'I am a donut.'" Later, Ed thanks Radio Fritz for playing "records that nobody else would" and for broadcasting the concert. Then, "... and now, Mike and I would like to serenade you," leading to 'Present Tense.' The band seems very ON and totally into this show, even if some of the songs seem to be played very fast. These radio broadcasts are just the greatest! An "aftershow," similar to the Atlanta 94 radio show, broadcast only in Germany, featured Ed playing music and chatting with fans about life. [Ed's DJ set: Pebbles (Shudder to Think), Strength to Endure (The Ramones), Sword of Damocles (Lou Reed), Sparks (The Who), Let Me Sleep (Christmas Time) (Pearl Jam), Bee Girl (Pearl Jam), Gravity (Howard Johnson and Gravity), Crystal Gypsy (Sebadoh), Jealous Guy (John Lennon), Rock 'n' Roll Radio, Let's Go! (The Ramones), Rockin' in the Free World (PJ w/ Neil Young from MTV VMA '93)]

Notes: | LDB Master Series #118 Hello, this is a collection of masters I would like to seed here. I've been taping shows for more than 20 years and have an awful lot of masters. Most of them are in the old cassette format, some others are on MiniDisc and others are on CD. I've taped many shows of many artists over the years, so don't be surprised if you will find many different artists taped! Some shows are already circulating, some others have not circulated through collectors yet. But most of all, enjoy! They all come from my masters! PEARL JAM Berlin, Deutschland Halle 3 November 1996 KRO Radio Broadcast 01 Intro - Ich bin ein Berliner 02 Long Road 03 Last Exit 04 Animal 05 Hail Hail 06 Go 07 Red Mosquito 08 In My Tree 09 Corduroy 10 Better Man 11 Lukin 12 Mankind 13 Hunger Strike 14 Even Flow 15 Daughter/(Androgynous Mind)/(Noise of Carpet) 16 Jeremy 17 Sometimes 18 Rearviewmirror 19 Immortality 20 Alive 21 Blood/(Fame)/(Suck You Dry) 22 Intro / Who You Are 23 State of Love and Trust 24 Not for You 25 Present Tense 26 Leaving Here (with The Fastbacks) 27 Yellow Ledbetter Lineage: KRO Radio broadcast > JVC VHS video recorder > Audigy Soundblaster > HD > SoundForge 7.0 > CD Wave > FLAC Frontend (level 6) Eddie Vedder (lead vocals, guitar), Jeff Ament (bass), Stone Gossard (rhythm guitar), Mike McCready (lead guitar), Jack Irons (drums) This one is sourced from one of the many broadcast around Europe that captured Pearl Jam live in Berlin. I had taped it when I was in Italy but the broadcast had plenty of DJ chit-chat, totally useless, that ruined most part of Ed's intros. Luckily my good friend Ed from The Netherlands had taped it as well from KRO using a VHS recorder and, after transferring it to tape, he would kindly send his master to me, which I still have in my vaults. The advantage is that is show flows on one continuous piece of music, so absolutely no gap in present. Plus, the quality is astonishing. I have looked over the net to check if this one as been officially released and so far I did not find any evidence. So here it is. What a perfomance! For you! ldb
