At the top is the title. In the middle is the aforementioned pic. Under the title and on the sides (of the front) is the old VH logo with the wings extended all the way out to each end. At the bottom it reads: ORIGINAL SOUNDBOARD RECORDING. The back has a stage shot of the band from 84 with the track list at the top. The inside is awesome with pics on the inside and outside (Dave and Ed (US Festival shots) and Mike, Dave, and Ed (84 shot) respectively. Printed inside is the text: Produced by KENNY BRIGHTSTAR Mixed by JOHN GREGORY at Digitech Studios, Pasadena, CA. The CD's also look awesome. Both CD's have the title on top and at the bottom it reads: "US FESTIVAL '83." Disc one is has the characteristic EVH guitar red & white striped pattern. Disc two is the same pattern but it's black and white. Both discs say "1997 The copyright in this sound recording owned by Aurola Musikk Produksjon A/S. Inside the holes that hold the CDs in the packaging you can see a tiny VH logo for disc 1, and disc 2's hole contains the initials "US". The audio for this 2 disc set is most likely from a video source as evidenced by several minor edits, and by the inclusion of an edited version of "You Really Got Me" at the end of the show. However, this is one of the best sounding Dave era cd's. This 2 disc set was limited to 300 copies, worldwide! There will be no "second runs or reissues". "Everybody Wants Some" is erroneously written as Track 3 with the Drum Solo. At the end of the last track on disc two, the following is spoken by an unknown person (male): "You know, I wanted to bring my mother down here to see Van Halen. But she was afraid that the heavy metal people are too rowdy, I mean, come on, right? She should have been here today, with the sun and the water."

Notes: Van Halen Glen Helen Park San Bernadino, CA USA May 29, 1983 **The `1983 US Festival** *****NOTES from Daves PA rental****** This is the best version of the VH set at the US Festival that I have ever heard. It is from the Video Master...very clean. On d01track01 there are two minor "pops". I forgot to save the log file for d01track08. There were no errors. There is an edit at the beginning of "You Really Got Me" where the VHS source runs out. I spliced together "You Really Got Me" from the "Van Halen Mix Tape: Live And Demos" that I posted a few months ago. Almost a flawless splice, except the croud gets a bit louder. Given to me (Daves PA rental) to share with the STG community by Matt Fuggi (thanks Matt!!!) Lineage: Master Video > VHS copy > CDR > EAC (Secure) .WAV > .SHN Taped by: ? The only copies until now are mine and my friend who I borrowed the VHS from. *****Notes From Nickdfresh****** This is an upgrade over another SBD sourced version of The 1983 US Festival called "California Calling: Listen to this Jimmy" torrented here: http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=57674 While both versions are soundboards, this version differs quite a bit in sound quality. In "Cali. Calling," the audience tends to overwhelm the music, in "Old No. 7," the instrument and vocal clarity is amazing, almost to a studio release quality. So now you can hear Van Halen in all their drunken glory as, ironically, possibly the best Van Halen recording is one of their worst recorded live performances. But what a fun boot to listen too! Dave or the grave motherf***ers!
