| Notes: | sbd - deadlists version [2006-07-17] The TC rates this strongly, noting that Pigpen tunes are featured. "Both shows end with unbelievable versions of his biggest show stoppers" and that the Alligator > Caution rivals the versions from 67-68 (i.e. Anthem of the Sun era). My take is that the LL is good but nothing to give it one of the best ever votes. Alligator doesn't fare as well to me because the drums segment is long and rather boring (almost petters out) and the post drum jam part is ok but didn't strike me as a must hear. The Caution is very good however and I'd say listen to that for the best of this show. The rest falls into the "ok but standard for this time" at best rating. One of the last versions of "He Was A Friend of Mine", shame because it was a nice slow tune. So the best I can give this show is a B+. Sound is fine but not the best so it gets a B+ as well. | |||||
