Notes: sbd miller [2007-09-05]Continues the mood for this run of shows. Here's a LMA review that captures my take more or less except I didn't find the sound and mix so bothersome. "First, the mix is bad, vocals are too high and the instruments are hard to hear, this enhances the perception that this show was at a lower energy level. Cranking up the high end on the equalizer helps. The band seemed to be in a slower blues mode, and either couldn't quite get things going or they were trying to restrain the jams. There are some nuggets here. The blues numbers, "It Hurts Me Too" and "Smokestack Lightning" are very good. In this show, a softer gentler "Other One" takes on a etherial quality. Finally, this version of "Good Lovin" is fun to listen to, it doesn't rock, it just kind of bounces along in a way only the Grateful Dead could do. It's worth the download."

Notes: aud [2007-10-05]Excellent sound and soundfield considering the vintage of this show. Set 1 has a nice Cryptical and Deep Ellem Blues. Set 2 has a good Smokestack. Show has some moments but comes across more as a run through of material without any epic performances.
