Notes: multiple sbd sources - I used the set 2 from this seed and set 1 from the "Hank Harrison" tape. Set 2, as typical for this time, is shorter than set 1. It starts off with a Dark Star > Deal. The Dark Star has a melodic jamming style that reminds me of PITB jams that would develop next year. Its not one of the better renditions of this tune. Then we have Lovelight with a Kig Bee with "Mannish Boy" sandwiched inside. Its an ok version but the review in the TC overstates the case for this night. One thing that is obvious is that Pigpen's return has brought back many of his songs which do mix up the styles a bit. Summary - pretty good for 71 but that's about the best you can say. Sound quality is ok but there is some hiss ...

Notes: set 1 - Hanno via Hank Harrison (grateful dead groupie and father of Courtney Love) who apparently was using his brief gd connections to make some money. Pretty hissy cassette at that! Typical 71 show, you've heard the tunes on other shows. The Compendium rates this show highly (because it has a Dark Star in set 2) but in the big picture it has no staying power. Intro by Sam Cutler.
