Overall cleanup was needed to remove many digital artifacts. Big sonic improvement now with better clarity and presence. Patches were pulled from aud shnid 99860. Thanks for this. Fades used on many tracks for smooth transition. This is a good mix with all instruments and vocals balanced. 35 plus minutes of "Dark Star". A deep space experience...sick! | Notes: | SBD - first off, all the "set 1" style songs are well played, making this a very strong show. PITB - one of my favorite versions, although its hard to find any single phrase to say why its better than others at this time. FOTD good and bouncy. Funny banter by Bob - "What would you do if we spent all evening here hollering at you guys, 'Stand-up, sit-down, stand-up, sit down'". Incredible jazzy jammy "Dark Star". Very good exmaple of the jazzy style of playing for this song. Pre-verse 1 has Lesh/Garcia doing stacatto jamming, with Bob being scratchy and Keith adding in jazzy chords. The "spacey, atonal" post vers 1 portion is creaky and scratchy, but not quiet. The seque into China Cat is very good. This pairing (Star > C Cat) didn't happen very often. This whole show is very good, start to finish. | |||||

The review in the TC is overstates the Dark Star. To me, they seemed to be noodling / groping for something and it was not obvious there was anything for me to follow. The consolidation into and segue into China Cat was nice. | |||||
