Love Buzz 17. Territorial Pissings Bonus 18. Smells Like Teen Spirit 19. Interview Nirvana SHN Vine - THE AMSTERDAM PARADISO 25TH NOVEMBER, 1991. This interesting rare disc was supplied by a great trader, Ger Potze, who some of you may know from his work on the Neil Young trees of late, plus numerous other things. Here is the story. Most of this is Ger's text as he mailed to me. Its long but worth the read about why this disc is a little beauty. The show played at the Amsterdam Paradiso November 25, 1991. Its to be found on a number of bootlegs. I think that this indicates most of the discs have been taken from the Dutch VPRO FM radio broadcast on November, 27, 1991. That broadcast starts off with 'Smells like teen spirit' followed by approximately 5 minutes of interview and then the rest of the show. Unfortunately it excluded 'Come as you are', and has an early ending to 'Territorial Pissings' because of the time limit of the particular radio show ("La Stampa") of a little less than an hour. The only thing out of order in that broadcast was the moving of 'Teen Spirit' to the beginning of the broadcast. What makes it stranger is that most bootlegs have more tracks out of order. Another thing that is kinda strange in my opinion, is the amount of discs available with the Amsterdam 91 show, but all are incomplete. The show was broadcast again by VPRO radio on August 30, 1994. That broadcast didn't have the interview, but included 'Come As You Are', and in the right running order as well! The only thing is the DJ starts to talk right at the start of the feedback ending of 'Territorial Pissings'. Anyways...: Since I have both broadcasts on tape (taken straight the FM broadcast), I used them to create the disc complete and in the right running order. The tape with the first broadcast was recorded without any cut or anything because I used a 120 min tape. The second one is on a 60 min tape, so I had to change the tape halfway through. I did this during the audience noise between Lithium' : and 'Sliver'. As said the second tape has the complete gig and the RIGHT running order, so I used that one as the basis for the cdr. Then I used tape 1 to mix the missing piece into the recording...if you know what I mean...: VPRO did broadcast a large part of the show on TV on December 22, 1991, and of course, I taped that as well. And, behold ;) that recording does have most of the feedback ending of 'Territorial pissings', so the last approximately 80 secs was mixed from VHS! That was Ger's explanation.... If I had got off my arse we would have beaten the release of this show in its complete form as you see on this link: http://www.digitalnirvana.net/bootography/review.asp?filename=paradisolost however this disc that is being offered beats the boot in these areas: 1. This disc is first gen straight from the FM broadcast. This beats the released version which is clearly higher gen. 2. This version has the feedback ending from 'Territorial Pissings' from the VHS. As Ger said to me, 'the bootleggers didn't bother to do this" 3.
