| Notes: | sbd [2006-07-15] Listened to this on a long ride to San Bernardino. Excellent sound mix and quality - very rich tones. Set 1 has the well rehersed versions of all songs. My favorites were the TLEO and PITB, former with the pickin' playing style and the latter as just another in the never ending series of great 1st set versions of this tune in 72 and 73. Set 2 starts with a PL > Bertha > GSET trifecta (2nd time for this one) that latter on would become common (78-79 time frame?). The remainder of set 2 is a themed-jam tour. He's Gone starts which is is relaxed and paced slowly before segueing into Truckin which goes into a NBFBM jam before drums. As TOO theme starts to come out of drums, they do a Spanish Jam followed by the TOO verse, then go into a spacey jam before a Mind Left Body Jam prefaces a standalone IKYR. What doesn't come across here is the apparent ease with which they shift from one to the other, which is what makes this a must listen for those that like 73. Similar to the 11/XX show which has a TOO sandwich fest if I remember correctly. | |||||
