The performances of all are right on - vocals and instrumentals, with much energy and power. Good set list done extremely well. After such a great year, it is surprising that they still had so much left - and it is not even New Year's yet! Miss this show at your own risk (DON'T)...Check out the Cold Rain and Snow -- there's nothing cold about it, and is about as perfect as it gets. Supplication, Scarlet, also great. This is a better show than those of fall '77. The year went out on a high note...besides some excellent standout songs (see other reviews), the whole thing has an incredible and consistent energy - with no moment wasted." Though there are no singularly best versions, this is a very well played show (though by Truckin > A&A it reverted to more rote playing). Sound quality is excellent, though the stereo mix makes Keith's tinkering sound odd and distracting in places. But Garcia and the band seems genuinely glad to be playing again and that freshness is what sets this show apart for 77. | |||||
