Notes: | sbd [2007-07-10]I just listened to set 2 because set 1 has been upgraded. This is a very string performance with no weak tunes - Estimated , Scarlet -> Fire , Terrapin -> Playin' -> Comes A Time-> Playin', though it is a bit short. It does have a CAT in the ballad spot which is always a favorite of mine.

Notes: | sony ecm - Moore [2007-06-17] From a LMA patron "This is a show with a great, flowing energy. Every time I listen to the songs I like them more. Dig the beautiful tenderness in Mississippi Half Step, Cassidy, Must Have Been the Roses, and Brown-Eyed Women especially. An 18+ minute Dancin' with really creative improv adds to the sublime flow of this show. This recording in particular adds a deep, warm sound with real depth. At worst, the audience is a little loud. But at best, you simply ARE THERE --time loses meaning, and the extremely 3-D sound becomes not merely sound but just timeless, lovely music. All the instruments and voices are clear, and all their tones blend together in what I feel is a very sweet mix. 5 stars. The first set alone will blow you away. Just be sure to treat this recording to some good speakers or headphones. ; )" Do I hear Wier noodling the Lost Sailor theme before Estimated at the start of set 2? And check out Phil in Scarlet during the transition jam to Fire! This and the previous night are very good shows. Sound here seems a little less boomy. Hardly any audience noise. Set 2 has no excellent song selection Estiamted, S>F, Terrapin>PITB > CAT >PITB. "A Dream Set that is basically one long jam, starting with Estimated and then blasts off with a Scarlet>Fire>Terrapin>Playin sequence that features some of the most amazing improvising you'll hear in 1977. They finally come down to earth with a gorgeous and rare Comes a Time (only 5 times in 1977). You haven't really heard May 77 until you've heard this show! ....The scarlet fire is top five all time. The boys swirl and fly around scarlet like sparks from the fire coming up. Fire is an exaustive exploration of all the tonal colors availible. and the transition is seamless. The rest of the set is strong but suffers a tiny bit in comparison. Really, really tight sow on a tour known for tightness. How exactly the achieved this well rehearsed inprovasation is something os a mystery, but that's what kept us coming back for more. Oh and the China Cat lick. I can actually hear Bob doin' the "heh huh" laugh in his head as he plays that. Just plain excellent."

Notes: | set 1 sbd (upgrade circa 6/03). I like the aud better but this sbd is supposed to be a serious upgrade from what previously circulated [2007-07-01]Not the strongest setlist, though the MHS > Big River is uncommon. Nix and sound quality are very good.

All Transfers and Mastering By Charlie Miller [2008-06-04]Preferred sbd source at least as of this date - set 2 is very concise and tasty, especially the PITB > CAT > PITB portion.

Notes: | flac16; Set 2, Matrix About 55% SBD/45% AUD Matrix by Hunter Seamons using Final Cut Pro (SHN & FLAC>AIFF>Final Cut>WAV>FLAC) [2008-06-13]Very effective matrix and a "few wasted note" second set, especially the PITB > CAT > PITB portion - highly recommended
