Maxell UD-120 cassettes, with Dolby B ON. Master Cassettes played back on Nak Dragon > ART DI/O > HD > Cool Edit 2000 > Feurio (CD) --------------------------------------------------------- Tech Notes I used EAC in secure mode to extract all tracks at 100% no reported errors. Cool Edit Pro 2.0 was used to align & synch both of the sources. - Mixed by [email protected] - Shn conversion 2-FEB-2004 --------------------------------------------------------- Notes On the SBD source most of the btwn song tuning/crowd was missing. In some cases I could supply the missing part using the AUD and other times I preformed crossfade with what was there to keep things sounding smooth and natural. It took me no less than 3 weeks to complete disc 1 of this show. The amount of time required to keep this thing aligned, finding all the missing portions, etc. makes for one hell of a project. For now, what we have is a tasty morsel. For those of you who are completionist don't do yourself a disservice by not checking this out. Grateful Dead Wednesday, June 26, 1974 Providence Civic Center Providence, RI DTS-Audio-CD 5.1 Mix Disc 1 - Set 1a 01 [06:52] Big River 02 [05:16] Brown Eyed Women 03 [03:29] Beat It On Down The Line 04 [07:23] Scarlet Begonias 05 [07:08] Black Throated Wind 06 [10:09] Row Jimmy 07 [04:51] Mexicali Blues 08 [06:08] Deal 09 [04:23] The Race Is On 10 [09:00] Mississippi Half Step Uptown Toodeloo 11 [06:49] El Paso 12 [06:30] Ship Of Fools --------------------------------------------------------- Source Info SBD (CD 1) SBD > MR > C > DAT > CDR (CD 2, 3) SBD > MR > Reel 1 > CDR (HHB CDR-850) > SHN AUD MC > WAV > CD > EAC > SHN Recorded by Jerry Moore near the rear of the floor, close to center axis with Sony ECM-99 Stereo mic (on metal pole) > Sony 152 deck. Cool Edit Pro 2.0 was used to align & synch both of the sources. CEP2.0 used to adjust the volume for the center and LFE channels. Surcode CD Pro DTS was used to encode to DTS. -3db was NOT applied to the rear channels. Both of the sources for the front and rear channels were left at their original levels. - Mixed by [email protected] - Shn conversion 2-FEB-2004 --------------------------------------------------------- DTS-Audio-CD Info Set 1 Front Left Left Channel SBD > MR > C > DAT > CDR Front Right Right Channel SBD > MR > C > DAT > CDR Center Mixed to mono -3db SBD > MR > C > DAT > CDR Surround Left Left Channel Matrix AUD-75% / SBD-25% Surround Right Right Channel Matrix AUD-75% / SBD-25% Sub/LFE Mixed to mono -3db SBD > ? > DAT --------------------------------------------------------- Notes I mixed little bit of the SBD into the rear channel to 'beef up' a tough AUD recording. I think this worked out well, with plenty of AUD feel still there but enough SBD so the poor fidelity of the AUD recording was reduced. On the SBD source most of the btwn song tuning/crowd was missing. In some cases I could supply the missing part using the AUD and other times I preformed crossfade with what was there to keep things sounding smooth and natural. For now, what we have is a tasty morsel. For those of you who arecompletionist don't do yourself a disservice by not checking this out. --------------------------------------------------------- More On DTS Today's audio standards are moving towards multi-channel sound, like DTS and Dolby Digital. While the Audio-CD standard (Red Book) hasn't changed to accommodate these new sound formats, it is still possible to go around the specification and to put a 5.1 surround recording on a regular Audio-CD. To play a DTS-Audio-CD you must connect your DVD/CD player via a digital cable (optical or coaxial) to your DTS Dolby-Digital receiver. It is not 100% sure that your receiver will recognize a DTS-Audio CD, so the first time you're trying to playback a DTS-Audio-CD you must do a test to determine if it can. Begin with the volume very low, start the disc and rise the volume gradually. NEVER listen to a DTS-Audio-CD through the analogue audio outputs of your CD/DVD player. Burning Instructions Burn them the absolute same way as you would burn any normal Audio-CD from .shn files. | |||||
