Notes: | SBD:MR > DAT > CD-R; material from previous shn set, plus patched intro from AUD (see notes in info file); seeded by Peter Braverman [2009-04-29]Gave this a spin today - great time but there are more than a few drop outs - gotta quote the infamous "Undernet" from back in the ftp days "This seed slipped into the 'tree under the radar from the alt.dead crew last month without the fanfare this Royal Assblaster deserves. The crazily fast, tight mania that crackles off of this show will leave you breathless and exhausted after a full listen. A good show to compare this to would be 77.05.04. While both shows exhibit the signature '77 hyperdelic cocaine soundstamp -- 05.04 is a nice moonlit, redwine convertible ride compared to the violent psychic enema the Dead gave these undergraduates that magical night at Colgate. The blistering solos during this Eyes of the World alone will make every effort to toss you bodily over The Cliff. This one will clean the tubes right out -- never mind the initial pressure behind the eyes and those leering insectoid midgets as the skein of space/time unravels, just hang ON to your faces, loyal SHNarvesters, this is some ride..."

Notes: | Jerry Moore aud via Minches [2007-04-17] Good sound on this Moore aud. Set 1 is unremarkably typical for this time ending with a LIG that features the raunchy Garcia tone. Set 2 starts with the Phil "Jones Gang" intro which launches into a get off your ass and boogie Samson which segues into a rare CR&S!. Then they dive into a PITB > EOTW > Estimated > TOO before a short drums. At this point the energy drops when they exit into Iko and a Stella before the expected PITB reprise. Overall I give this night an A- for the first half of set 2. Someone notes that this might be the 1st time that EOTW > Estimated instead of the reverse.

Notes: | sbd/aud matrix by Chris Chappell. [2006-02-20] This is a soldi performance but looks better on paper. Just not good enough this year to make my must hear list. If I was to say why it would be that the show is a little to "plod" along-ish, low on emotion compared to other performances this year.

Notes: | Alan Zimmerman Master via David Minches [2007-04-08] The sound quality here is a tad bit harsh (maybe a bit hot on the levels?) if I was to be picky. Its a very nice aud tape. The show is homecoming so the band is here to impart an upbeat vibe - set 1 is typical ending with a nice LIG. Set 2 starts w/ some euipment problems and a humorous Lesh intro of the band and crew as the Jones's which segues into a very upbeat Samson > CR&S! the latter out of rotation for at least a year I believe. Then comes a very cohesive PITB -> EOTW -> Estimated -> TOO -> Drums-> Iko Iko-> Stella -> PITB. The tenor here is not to dwell at length on any specific theme but on the flow between songs. None of these are best of year stuff but basically a fun college dance. I give it an A- for the CRS and basic togetherness of set 2
