WBOTB tree; Complete show-- source tape: MR>P2>D1); 7" two track BBD reel w/ DBX-1 @ 7 1/2 ips > PCM501ES @ 44.055 kHz; PCM501ES analog out > DBX-1 decoder > analog in PCM501ES; PCM501ES analog out > Fostex D5 @ 48 kHz; Casey Jones, brief low-level crackle, poss bad mic; Wharf Rat ~30 sec section of analog tape damage leading to a cut during the song. There is an illegal bootleg available that apparently has no cut in Wharf Rat, but the cut has been edited out and the song is about 30 sec shorter than on the Betty reel. No EQ has been performed. You hear what is on the Betty reels.; note md5s listed here were taken from gdlive.com, 1/2/01- presumably from the same 7/99 shn set; upgrade in circulation

Notes: bbd [2007-05-19]Many have high opinions of this show. They site the set opening Casey Jones (out of rotation since 74 and rare in the opening position), Jerry forgets some of the verses so they play a longer than usual version (sounds meandering and not noteworthy to me). Dupree appears (1st since 69?) and its ok. LIG is called inspired but again I can't say what is special about it from 50 other versions.

Notes: bbd transfer ect via Green Mountain Brothers [2007-12-16]Sound quality is very good, the performance is enjoyable but not exceptional for this year. The reviews on the LMA though woudl suggest I'm missing something, foe example here's a typical one: "For years I had a tape of this show what always stood out for me was the transition between Truckin and Other One. It really shows the boys at their best. The Jerry and Phil interplay is especially terrific. The bands just so tight. The show on the whole is great. As stated before the Scarlet Fire is a superb version and the rest of the show is also strong. Not to mention the sound is exceptional, both warm and crisp."
