Notes: After taking some time off (and practicing) this show was one of the first when touring began. Their practicing really shows - very tightly played with the extended jamming cut back. Amazing sound quality. Candyman is a gem. Big River and Scarlet top notch versions. All songs played with lots of concentration and focus. ST. Stephen done in a slower, controlled pacing. Sugaree and Eyes throw off some sparks. [9/15/04 - This seed has channel switches which cause some pops - looks might be common to all versions that circulate.]

Notes: Hopkin's aud tape. complete show, no between song cuts. Solid, well played show. [Note: I created a shn set w/ de-emphasis. This seemed to match the spectral sound other auds sourced around 6/2003 direct from the master cassettes, suggesting that Dolby might have been used on the originals but not decoded in the transfer to DAT.]

Notes: bbd seed - Sound quality: The channel switching phenomena as far as I know exists on all seeds as of 10/10/05. It wasn't that big of a problem to me. Otherwise, this is one of the primo betty boards for sound quality and mix. 76 style very much in force - attentive playing without too much free form jams that escape from the basic tune structure. Set 2 is chopped into 2-3 sections so it doesn't have much overall flow. The Sugar Mag > Eyes transition is nice. Most people will like the sound quality, though the playing lacks the rock-n-roll edge they would acquire in a few years. Splices or something in Stella, Scarlet and one other tune in set 1.

Notes: Jeery Moore AKG from front of Balcony - very nice recording. The St. Stephen > Dancin is good but check out the Sugar Mag > Eyes transition for some prime 76 Dead.
