Notes: *Attended the Show* Yep, took the trip from the US over to the Netherlands to see this concert. It is a 3 cam mix. The pic is not the greatest, but the very nice audio more than makes up for it. Also, apparently the taper strolled in a little late, and the show starts a few secs into 'Mother'.

The two sources I used were A Collection Of Great War Songs & a DAT to CDR of Schoeps k4v's > kc5 > cmc6 > vms5u > sony-tcd8 @ 48Khzs via Tascam DA20mkII > Rme96/8. After hearing each source, I wasn't expecting a lot. The aCoGWS production was very bright and lacked bass to a significant degree. It also had some deletions in the middle of songs making for some strange sounding vocal lines. The second source had a lot of bass and absolutely no high end at all with a diminished midrange clarity, very dull. I wouldn't have rated either source better than VG+/EX-, and I'm known to be forgiving on ratings. That left me with the alternative of matrixing the two sources which didn't look to be very promising. Wow, was I ever wrong! I would never have guessed that the resulting matrix was nearly perfect. Almost nothing else had to be done. The bass is fantastic and solid without making my subwoofers unnaturally jump off the floor. The highend is great and the midgrange is greatly improved. There are only a few drawbacks. Some of Roger's quieter vocals are buried in the mix, but when he sings strongly, there are no issues. The segements of missing music from the RoIO release of aCoGWS will sounding like channel phase drop outs when only the Schoeps source is playing. This not only gives an idea of what was missing from aCoGWS, but it also shows what the matrix did for the Schoeps source. Each of these drop outs is less than a second and there are only 8 of them in the entire 2.5hr show. This show can be safely played loud; in fact, I highly recommend it be played loud to fully appreciate the depth of the recording. The 3 camera mix down master video source had a few problems with it. First, the audio was really messed up for the majority of the recording. Nearly every time the camera angle changed, the sound would drop out for bit. There were a few greater than 10 second sound dropouts. So I sat on this video for a very long time till I could track down the replacement audio sources. The second problem with the video is that all three filmers arrived late to the show, hence why it starts at the end of Mother. For the most part, that's the end of the problems. The rest of the show is quite viewable and the sound really improves it considerably over the other versions of this video out there. A special thanks go out to Anthony for trading me the two sources used for this recording and to the CBG for the video source used. As with all Digital Reproductions releases, this production is for free trade and blank media trade only. Please do not buy, sell, or distribute for profit. Help keep the spririt of trading alive and well. (January 2004)
