Notes: Barenaked Ladies "Honey It's Irv Weinstein" The ICON Buffalo, New York 9/19/92 Sony D3, clip on mic > Cool Edit Pro This is the Infamous BNL ICON show... The boys have often referred to this show at various gigs throughout their career. Although this has often been mistaken for a sound board recording, this is a superb audience recording. As the show progressed, they pushed the PA system too much, and a slight distortion can be noticed. This was my first attempt at a CD transfer, and use of Cool Edit Pro back in 1999. So some of the transitions, equalization, etc, may seem quite novice. I did go back and re-track both discs to make them a bit more even, and removed bonus tracks (from the widely circulated Yellow tape). And yes... McDonald's Girl is cut. A complete version from this night does not exist I only brought a 90 minute tape with me that night. Probably their most uninhibited era, the band is dead on, and rip appart any and all ‘pop' artists and Local Television of the time (Rush, Nervona, Rob Howford - Iron Maidon, New Kids on the Block, Milli Vanilli, Chuck Mangione, etc - Uncle Boby, Rocketship 7, Local Buffalo news anchors) For anyone from the Buffalo, and Southern Ontario area.. This is a MUST.. !! Typical of BNL at that time, the comments are hilarious. Their increased popularity seams to have forced the band to be more politically correct with it's humor in more recent years... this one will bring it all back.. I've updated my old artwork to include more photo's of the local talent, as well as a short descriptions of what the bands jokes are all about... ...and why it's called - "Honey it's Irv Weinstein"
