Notes: "While Hendrix was with Curtis Knight And the Squires he signed
an agreement with Ed Chaplin, a New York producer, to record
for him exclusively for three years (Ocotober 15,1965 through
October 15,1968). In return Jimi Recieved one dollar in cash
and the rights to one percent of the "reatil-selling price of
all records sold for his production efforts, and minium scale
for arrangements he produces." He recorded 60 songs for
Chaplin and PPX while he was with the Squires, 26 Studio
and 35 Live Recordings." Black Gold

Notes: During two studio sessions in 1965 and 1967, plus a live set at George's Club in Hackensack, New Jersey, Jimi Hendrix recorded tracks with Curtis Knight. Under contract to, and under the direction of producer Ed Chalpin, these studio sessions at PPX Studios in New York became infamous. Not only for being one of the earliest known studio sessions featuring Hendrix as a lead performer, but for the legal embattlement the sessions created.
