| Notes: | DVD 472; lineage: 1st generation reel>CDR. This new 1st generation reel source from a recent DIME torrent was a nice upgrade to what was around previously. Just Ask The Axis has this rated Fair, Plug Your Ears rated it Good, this 1st Gen source rates about a VG now (except for the tape hiss). The original tape suffers from dropouts and volume fluctuations, perhaps due to a limiter on the original recording deck (& possibly the taper). I fixed the dropouts, adjusted the volume levels wherever they changed, evened out the balance, and normalized to 98%. You will notice a rise in tape hiss here and there, but the volume is consistent now. DIME torrent> CDR> XACT extraction> Final Cut Pro (levels adjusted)> Sound Studio (normalized, tracked)> CDR. No EQ used. | |||||
