Joe Jackson
Bravo! NewStyleArtsChannel is steppin' out with musician extraordinaire Joe Jackson,
as he performs selections from his diverse repertoire in front of an audience
in Bravo!'s state-of-the-art Rehearsal Hall.
Born in England, Joe Jackson's musical career began when
as an awkward and asthmatic child he joined a violin class as a way to avoid school sports.
Since then Joe Jackson's eclectic musical career has been impossible to categorize.
Throughout his nearly three-decade-long career,
Joe has gone from playing piano in the National Youth Orchestra,
to rocking in a punk band, touring the cabaret circuit,
and perfecting what is now his very own contemporary style of music.
Now a full-time resident of New York City,
Joe Jackson has proven his versatility and has released at least a dozen albums,
created his own record label, produced film scores, written a book,
won a 2001 Grammy for Best Pop Instrumental Album for SYMPHONY No. 1,
and most recently released Night and Day II, the sequel to his classic 1982 album.
For this special performance, the Bravo! Rehearsal Hall was transformed
into a small and exclusive nightclub, set in front of New York City's skyscrapers.
In this intimate venue, Joe Jackson answers questions from the audience
and performs such classic tunes and newer selections as;
It's Different For Girls (I'm The Man -1979),
Steppin' Out (Night and Day -1982),
Be My Number Two (Body And Soul -1982)
Stranger Than You (Night And Day II - 2000), and many more.
Transform yourself in a New York minute. |
