Harvested release (HRV-030) |
Notes: |
The only problem with this gig is the short setlist. Had the band added a typical early 1970 song like Main Theme, Sysyphus or Violent Sequence, this would've been in the top 3 all-time Floyd recordings. In any case, it's a beautiful recording, with VG++/Ex- sound. |

Title: 6 of 1 (Live at Leeds)
The only problem with this gig is the short setlist. Had the band added a typical early 1970 song like Main Theme, Sysyphus or Violent Sequence, this would've been in the top 3 all-time Floyd recordings. In any case, it's a beautiful recording, with VG++/Ex- sound. An excellent performance all around (that's why it's such a shame the setlist is so short): CWTAE is extremely well performed, ASOS (nice vocals!) an IO conclude the show very very well, with powerful renditions. TAP is still in an early and complete form (drum solo and all) and is quite enjoyable. It's probably one of the best sounding TAP (after the French radio broadcast, obviously). There's a slight loss of volume during Embryo and the hiss can be a bit annoying during the quieter parts. |

Rogers comments during the show:
[ROGER: ...done some pitch. What we're gonna do is a new song, it's called 'The Embryo'.]
The Embryo
[ROGER: Careful With That Axe, Eugene.]
Careful With That Axe, Eugene
[ROGER: Thank you. Anyway we won't bother about that now. Ehh... This is another oldie, it's called 'Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun'.}
Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun
[ROGER: Thank you. Thank you. ...a new piece, and it's yet untitled, it's been a... and it's quite long so get comfortable.]
The Amazing Pudding
A Saucerful Of Secrets
[ROGER: Good. That's all. It's only about 7 or 8 minutes of time left so this, this is gonna have to be the fastest 'Interstellar Overdrive' ever.]
