Notes: This is sourced from the Master Tape, via a DAT 4 gen tape. I've had this recording for quite awhile but rarely listened to it, due to the fact that it runs a bit fast. Well, I have finally decided to fix the speed problem. I hope you like the results. Though the source recording has some minor problems (minor sonic bumps and some hiss - more so on Disc 2), this is a superb, clear sounding recording and is a definite upgrade to 'Best Of The Pepperland Tapes'. Lineage: A0 > D3/4 > CDR > EAC(secure) > WAV (put each Disc in a single track) > Speed Corrected (Audacity 1.2.3) at -3.8 > Indexed via CD Wave Audio Editor (1.93.3) > FLAC (Level 7) Remastered by Scott Eden (2005-April) Remastering notes: In determining the best speed change to make, I used the Pepperland Tapes as a guide. I found that while a speed change of -4.0 brought me in line with the Pepperland Tapes, it seemed a bit sluggish. I found -3.8 to be the best sounding. I re-indexed things a bit. I broke the Astronomy Domine power problems into their own track. While interesting to hear once or twice, they are not something you want to repeatedly listen to. I also moved Embryo to the end of Disc 1. Since it segues smoothly from AHM and has an abrupt cut at the end, it seemed more natural to place it at the end of a disc. I also indexed the tracks so that the song begins with the track, except for Saucerful.

Never End RoIOs have always a wonderful packaging actually and the contents are usually as much good as the container though they are quite common recordings. it includes the best version of the San Diego 71 recording (complete) I've listened to at now. to me sounds really better than the supposed second gen. used by Highland for Wind & Seabirds.(sounds brighter / less distortions). all tracks fade in and out in between. CD 2 has bonus (not specified on the cover) from the BBC sessions.

Notes: "The Best Of The Pepperland Tapes" CD Reference: The Best of the Pepperland Tapes, Breakdown Co-Ordinator, Brutish Temptation, Pepperland in the West, The Astronomy Incident, Total Eclipse, Edmundson, Philadelphia 26.9.70 Comments: This RoIO, which has been reproduced on a number of bootlegs, is easily distinguished by power cuts during 'Astronomy Domine' and 'A Saucerful Of Secrets'. Most recordings in circulation have been edited down, removing non-musical excess and an eleven minute rendition of 'Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun', which should follow 'Careful With That Axe, Eugene' Rogers comments during the show: "Good evening, people, this is called 'Astronomy Domine'". Astronomy Domine [Power loss #1] "Thank you, for our next number! One. Hang on, we'll just find out what that was because the possibility exists that we may be able to split some power leads. [Person in the audience calls for 'Careful With That Axe, Eugene'.] Give us a chance John! I think we'll start that one again." Astronomy Domine [Power loss #2] "Third time lucky. Evidently that re-start was a little premature because they are splitting some leads - spreading some of the power out. So we'll start again in a minute. I hope so. There won't be enough left for us. This happened three times in our first set at Fillmore East a couple of weeks ago. Got quite boring after - oh you're a friendly little chap! ['Sorry!' from the audience] You're forgiven. One." Astronomy Domine [Power loss #3] "Two, three, four..." Astronomy Domine [Starts part way through.] "K'you. This is a new song and it's on the album we've just released and it's called 'Fat Old Sun'." Fat Old Sun "Thank you. This next song is something to do with a dream and it's called 'Cymbaline'." Cymbaline "There's a very long cut out on our new album, called 'Atom Heart Mother', where we use some brass players and some choir. But before we put the brass players and the choir on, when we were recording it we used to play it live." Atom Heart Mother "This is called 'The Embryo'. One, two, three, four." The Embryo "...do with things together now, the first of which is a song called 'Green Is The Colour' and the second is an instrumental off of our album 'Ummagumma' and it's called 'Careful With That Axe, Eugene'." Green Is The Colour/Careful With That Axe, Eugene "This is called 'Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun'." Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun "Thank you. This is the last tune we're going to play and it's off one of our albums and it's called 'A Saucerful Of Secrets', and thanks very much..." A Saucerful Of Secrets [With seeming partial powerloss after 18 minutes and another after 19 minutes] [MC: Pink Floyd!] "Thank you, goodnight." [MC: ...'69 yellow Buick...] Quality: Excellent
