Primary source: 'Animals Tour Debut' (Digital Floyd) (rec 1) (audience - recorder 3 - cass[? - master ?]>DAT>CDR>[CEP]>wav>flac(l8)). Original torrent: http://www.yeeshkul.com/forum/showthread.php?26141 - thanks to floyd42 for the upload.
Secondary source: 'Bugger's Eyes' (rec 3) (audience - recorder 3 - cass[? - master ?]>DAT>CDR>[CEP]>wav>flac(l8)). Original torrent: http://yeeshkul.com/forum/showthread.php?17461 - thanks to andy_672 (RIP) for the upload.
A personal project combining these two sources to make up the complete show. I used rec 1 for the primary source because it sounded a bit more well-balanced to my ears compared to the thinner-sounding rec 3; rec 3 was used to fill the missing pieces. Aside from that, both sources were in need of a great deal of speed correction, particularly rec 1. Anyone familiar with rec 1 can no doubt recall the horrendous speed problems during 'Pigs' in particular.
Here are the details of the work done to create this:
- MAJOR speed correction on ATD throughout - was particularly bad during P3DO
- increased volume on rec 3 to better match ATD
- blended in roughly the first 50 seconds of Sheep from rec 3
- blended in roughly 20 seconds from rec 3 between Sheep and POTW1
- blended in roughly 55 seconds from rec 3 between Dogs and POTW2
- blended in roughly 20 seconds from rec 3 between POTW2 and P3DO
- blended in roughly 30 seconds from rec 3 after P3DO
- blended in roughly 30 seconds from rec 3 before SOYCD 1-5
- blended in roughly 35 seconds from rec 3 between WttM and HAC
- blended in roughly 8 seconds from rec 3 between HAC and WYWH
- blended in roughly 25 seconds from rec 3 between WYWH and SOYCD 6-9
- blended in the end of SOYCD 6-9 from rec 3 and performed major speed correction
- removed a few minutes of crowd noise from rec 3 before the encore and then blended ATD back in during the tune-up before Money

Review: dortmunds
Yet another Sirene release sourced from material which appeared in our PF trading circles, so nothing new here for the attentive collector except some Japanese-made 'cleaning' (though it seems Sirene is usually lighter handed on the NR than his fellow Japanese bootleggers). For once the artwork does not mention a limited number of copies.
I did a quick check about the sources, and the above mentioned lineage is only speculative, it's what I made out of it, but I'm quite sure of my guess.
I couldn't make out if the 01-23 gig was from the claimed master (126:32) or from the longer first gen (131:52). Probably it's from the first gen since it's 128:27, or a mix. Of course thsi is assuming it's from the 3rd taper of that night, but I have no doubt about it. The sound is radically different (and superior) to the 1st recorder, and the 2nd one is incomplete, so...
There was only one taper for the 01-24 show, and the timing of this Sirene releases matches perfectly the timing of the 2nd gen transfer (a little over 113min). There's a little longer (119min) 1st gen source also circulating, but I don't think this was the source for the Sirene discs.
Again nice packaging and cool idea of Sirene to release the two Dortmund nights, opening of the 1977 In The Flesh Tour, in one box set. But booh bad bad idea to sell it! Good sounding and pleasure listen, but since the same untouched sources are also circulating, you might also want to get the real deal instead (and for free).
Thanks to whomever liberated this bootleg. I received those files without info except the artwork, that's why I made this TXT. -Furry_animal

Review: If Pigs Could Fly
"Here Come the Pigs!"
Pink Floyd were ready with their new album “Animals”. The album was recorded during the summer and fall of 1976 in a new studio built in Islington, North London and contained both old and new material. Ever since the end of 1974, and all the way through the many legs of the 1975 tour, the band frequently performed ‘Raving and Drooling’ and ‘You’ve Gotta Be Crazy’, two brand new songs that failed to make the final cut of “Wish You Were Here”. Reluctant to throw away such good material, the band re-structured the two unreleased songs around the concept of the new album, respectively re-naming them ‘Sheep’ and ‘Dogs’. New material written to accompany those two older number included “Pigs (Three Different Ones)” and a two-part song called ‘Pigs on a Wing’. Roger describes this as a love song to his wife Carolyne. Other motivations for the album, according to Waters, included moralist Mary Whitehouse and the rising conservative politician Margaret Thatcher. Both received the brunt of his scathing sarcasm.
As always, the band wanted the world to take notice of their new work. They adopted the new floating pig mascot for both symbolic and practical reasons. The cover of the new album shows the pig floating over the London Battersea power station. To get this picture, the graphic artist wanted to superimpose the pig into a standard picture. The band had other plans and insisted that a 40 foot helium filled Zeppelin of a pig be made, inflated, and launched over the site. This spectacle was arranged with a film crew, tethering crew and even a sharp shooter in case the giant pig broke loose and needed to be shot down. Unfortunately, the first day’s attempt was unsuccessful due to weather. The next day the photographs were taken but before they would return the zeppelin to the ground, the wind broke the tethering lines and the huge inflatable pig was loose. This problem was further complicated by the fact that no one remembered to ask the sharp shooter to come back for the second day. The pig floated around London for quite a while before landing in a field near Canterbury. Though it was obviously unplanned, the band could not have asked for a better publicity event.
This brings us to the present PRRP release. Dortmund, Germany, January 23rd 1977 was to witness the very first show of the 1977 Animals Tour. The new album was to be released the day of this performance, therefore no one in the audience was very familiar with the new material.
Saxaphonist Dick Perry joined the band again on this tour, while Terrance “Snowy” White was asked to provide back-up rhythm guitar. Pink Floyd once more split the show into two sets. The first set consists of the whole “Animals” album while the second presented –for the first time- the complete “Wish You Were Here” album. Two encores were also provided, both taken from the “Dark Side of the Moon” album. The combination provided an excellent chronicle of the Pink Floyd approach to music at the time and received a warm reception for this very enthusiastic German crowd.
Notes from the Re-Master
The source for this audience recording is generally good but a number of problems needed to be fixed. For some reason, many of the songs were spliced together, making an abrupt cut during the audience applause. We presume this was done to shorten the recording but none the less we had to smooth these transitions in order to maintain the flow of the concert. The hiss level was quite high so it was localized and reduced. The sound quality was good with music signal clearly present up to 11,000 Hz but the tonality needed adjustment. The low treble range was particularly harsh and piercing during Gilmour’s guitar solos and the saxophone leads.
Selective attenuation of those frequencies reduced this audible annoyance. At rare times the bass overwhelmed the other instruments and needed to be reduced as well.
During a five minute segment on disc 2 the left channel lost significant treble. This was restored as well as possible. At the end of “shine on you crazy diamond” the recorder probably had battery failure since the pitch and tempo fall noticeably. This was adjusted to be consistent with the rest of the show but brief variations remain. Conversely, during a section of disc 1 the tempo and pitch are unusually increased. This section was slowed back to the tempo and pitch of the rest of the show. Many brief dropouts occurred. Some were removed while others were pasted over to be less noticeable.

notes:
incomplete version of the alternate (second) source of the Dortmund premiere; this recorder was pretty close to the first. I really don't know if this alt. recording uses to be complete ... maybe some of the Animals Tour Debut or whatever other complete RoIO of the Animals premiere could come indeed from this alt. source ... surely not the DFP version, and not the 'Unknown Edition' one; this is a very good sounding recording, not as much as the common source anyway ... the raw LP rip I got sounds not as much good at least.
the R&D revised version comes from a different LP rip than mine; there's a bit of hiss more than on my version there, maybe because this is more amplified than mine, but the sound is more defined, and my rough LP rip has some obvious vinyl noise, here that was carefully removed, good work of remastering.

Review: Bugger's Eyes
source: audience - recorder 3 - cass[? - master ?]>DAT>CDR>[CEP]>wav>flac(l8)
notes:
this doesn't come as sourced from the master but sounds EXACTLY like the version from the master I got before so it may be a low gen and not a master as my previous version claimed to be.
No NR artifacts used, CEP processing consisted of softening of the noise (crackles/static) present here and there throughout the recording, noise is still present, but this is the best you can get without compromising the sound quality.
The original source revealed a likely pre-existent attempt of equalization, no EQ processes have been added to the original source.
this recorder is well recognizable because of the little gaps on Pigs -3DO- (right before the number is revealed) and the long intermission between the end of the second set and the encores.
Waters shouts his first number here > 1 on Pigs - 3rd verse (at 11:03 on this version) -orangemaze
