Here's a portion of an interview between Beck and Record Collector.
"RC: Another early release I have a copy of is called Fresh Meat & Old Slabs. B: Yeah, that?s something I made for my Mom actually for her birthday I think. I made it because she opened up a caf? and she wanted some of my music to play in the caf?. So I put together some of the different songs off the different tapes I?d made."
Like "Banjo Story", "Don't Get Bent Out Of Shape", "1992 Demo", and "Beck, Like The Beer", this collection of oldies was done on a 4-track and was passed around to friends and family.
