Notes: |
Was a rockin night. Crowd were really up for it as this was Ben's first London show in a few years. Personal highlights were the cover of the Dr Dre tune, a killer "Rockin The Suburbs" and a full pelt dash thru "1 Angry Dwarf" ending with a final piano stool throw which struck a lovely chord.
On my recording there are a few audio hiccups in the first minute of "Suburbs" n "Trusted" and as I mentioned the first minute-ish of "Late" is missing due to MD changeover. If the guy actually paused for breath.... Shoulda changed before "Army" when he was teaching the horn parts but hey, can't be helped.
Apart from all that, a real nice recording. Band and vocals upfront, clear and sharp. Ben mentioned near the beginning that he'd been fighting with the sound with relation to the postion of his piano and the PA etc. I thought sound was a little too bassy at times but improved at the show went on.
