This documentary goes behind the scenes of the Wall tour (only 29 shows in total) and includes footage of the 08/09/80 Earl’s Court show, with fantastic sound. The documentary does a brief overview of the band leading up to the Wall tour, starting back with Sid Barrett and their first album and working up to that infamous incident when Water’s spat on a fan at a Canadian show. The reasoning behind the whole concept of the show is explained and a whole host of people involved with The Wall are interviewed. The film also looks at the resulting movie produced by Alan Parker and examines the whole “Wall? phenomena on many different levels. All members of The Pink Floyd, including Waters, share their thoughts on different aspects of the band’s career and The Wall. There are also interviews with lots of other people involved with the production and the band, including Bob Geldof and Alan Parker. With heaps of really interesting facts, fun stories, stage design details and tour footage, this documentary is wonderfully informative. The footage is fantastic with live footage going back to Sid’s era, through to Dark Side of The Moon concerts, and of course, lots of clips from the Earl’s Court show, with explanations and descriptions from the band and crew. This is from Japanese TV - Space Shower Networks Inc. Japanese subtitles throughout. Bonus material at the end has eight video clips of various songs by the band. The bonus video clips are: Arnold Layne,
Another Brick In The Wall (Pt.2),
When The Tigers Broke Free,
The Fletcher Memorial Home,
Learning To Fly,
High Hopes,
Wish You Were Here (Live), and Keep Talking (Live). A great watch! Enjoy! Thanks so much for this beauty Jason!! |
