This is the complete '76 German TV special that in retrospect may have been the first full length "concept video". Although not at the top of most Tull fans list of albums, it was very eclectic, interesting and thankfully the last of the overly orchestrated Tull albums, and would lead to probably one of their finest moments musically, the masterpiece "Songs From The Wood". The TV special runs through most of the albums' material and has 2 brief interviews with Ian Anderson (with German translation voice over). It's obvious that Ian's alter ego in the piece "Ray Lomas" was in fact the person that he may have feared he would become without a future in the rock biz. I have never seen any of this material outside of this 40min broadcast, some still photos from the era appear in the 25th Anniversary Box Set booklet (the crazy-ass Glamster, Biker, Gender-Bender pics). I had always wondered where the hell those photos came from...they must have shot promo stills on the sets of this show. The picture and sound are decent, but alot of the color is bled out, and the soundtrack is noisey, but this is never going to be released, and I have never seen anyone who had a copy of it, good or bad...so here it is !!! This is one for the time capsule, it's another act of mad genius from Ian Anderson, one of the finest and most prolific songwriters in rock history. It features the "Strip Cartoon" as a segue between tracks.
