Good recording, but for some reason, there is a more substantial analog presence on this set than during the rest of the show. Fear's house sound was apparently muddier than some of the other bands, because this doesn't sound quite as crisp as some of the other sets. Part of a 3 disc set featuring sets from The Controllers, Geza X, Minutemen, The Dogs, The Runaways, The Skulls, The Crowd, The Adolescents, Screamers, Fear, Circle Jerks, Bad Religion, TSOL, and Agent Orange. |

On cdr w/ The CROWD, ADOLESCENTS, SCREAMERS & CIRCLE JERKS/WEIRDOS. Each set about 15 minutes. FEAR was totally on. Just after 9/11 they called out USA, USA between songs. Pretty impressive. I was there, it was moving. They were the sharpest band that night probably cuz they never broke up. Lots of personnel changes but always Mr. Lee Ving.
About 2003 I saw them at Brick by Brick, a fairly small club in San Diego. It was packed. Lee Ving sorta looked like his dad might, weathered and aging. He had like 3 Mexicans/Chicanos as the rest of the band. It was the hardest core show I've ever been too. At least one guy got taken out by bouncers just completely blacked out. It was a very lively show, to say the least. |

(AUD) It's a bit weird that the FEAR sound is worse than the other bands. Very odd indeed. Ahh well, cool set. Lee Ving still sounded like a badass at 52. The CROWD, ADOLESCENTS, SCREAMERS & CIRCLE JERKS/WEIRDOS on the same CD. |
