More kudos to my Coachella Crew; DJ Froyd, Doc Z, and EK. For our third straight year, we came, we saw, we listened, and we got really messed up. Oh, we also taped a few things. Decided to get a "taste" of Rage, so about 20 minutes or so before they started, we waded into the ocean of mass humanity that was the RATM crowd. Can't say exactly how many hundreds of feet we ended up away from the right stacks, but the sound quality here is better than you might think. In between songs you can hear some background bass noise from an adjacent dj stage, but it's not overwhelming by any means. Not being an aficionado of Rage, they certainly have a message and it is powerful.....loud, damn loud, and clear. One that I remember from back in '92. Hoping that the full set comes out for the diehards, but for now, here is what I can provide. With headphones, you may hear some interesting side comments from some of the crowd nearby. Overheard after the finish of "Bullet In The Head," "Just victims of the in-house drive-by? Wow.....put up the white flag." All told, another epic experience at Coachella '07. Enjoy.

Surprisingly excellent audience recording, considering the size of the show. The crowd singing is a heavy presence during Testify, but for the rest of the show, most of the chatter remains between songs. Great recording. The performance is strong, though Zack's voice is very uneven. This isn't as good as they sounded in their prime, but Wake Up is a ferocious offering, and worth the disc alone. |

*This show goes out to Bob, for drivin my sorry ass all the way to Coachella and back, cheers buddy!
*Shout out to Andrew, kickin it to this shit since a long long time ago..."back in ninety-fo!"
***you posers, fear is your only god
.I was in the pit for this bad boy with 60,000 pissed off Rage fans behind me trying to smash closer. The entire section directly out from stage left
was so packed around me that when Rage began playing I couldn't help but jump because the crowd was lifting me of my feet...everyone was jumping.
The entire section almost immediately became one huge pit that didn't dissipate until after the show. I have a few slight issues with clipping
because I started recording about 40 feet out from the stacks but with the mosh pit, I was being pushed almost up to the stage and back repeatedly.
The pit was so rough that it really started clearing people out because they were too scared, or too hurt to last the entire show up front.
I was worried that I was going run out of batteries for the end of the show because somewhere along the line, my battery stick got smashed and
Rage was the last show of the day...Yeah, the pit was rough.
.My left mic shorted for Guerrilla Radio, Renegades Of Funk & Calm Like A Bomb after being blasted by a water bottle grenade, thus drenching my left mic.
Therefore I copied the right channel over to the left channel for Guerrilla Radio, Renegades Of Funk & Calm Like A Bomb to make up for the short.

Huge huge huge ups to the filmer magmazing! Here's his original notes: "DVD of Rage Against the Machine's performance at the Coachella Music Festival, April 29, 2007.
The video was shot by me with a canon camcorder and a mini monopod I snuck into the concert venue and I created a dvd of the footage with Adobe Encore. So burn the Video_TS folder in Nero or whatever DVD burning software you use and enjoy.
Oh yeah, if you want a preview of what the footage looks like go to my youtube channel www.youtube.com/magmazing
You'll notice I also shot the Beastie Boys at Sasquatch too."
