Notes: Jethro Tull Grand Riviera Theater Detroit, 1969-11-28 Here is an oldie but a goodie from the Tull Passion Players tree. A 2005 release. Ripped from CD using Nero 7 Encoded to FLAC using Trader's Little Helper Torrent file created with uTorrent Here is the original info: Jethro Tull Grand Riviera Theater Detroit, Michigan USA 28 November, 1969 This is a very rare, early audience recording that had been amazingly well preserved, considering its age. The sound is fairly clear, though Ian apologizes to the audience at the beginning for the quality of the sound, stating that the band was using the venue's sound system rather than their own. The recording had several small tape drop-outs, which were repaired. Nothing Is Easy had a small bit of material missing, which was repaired by splicing in a passage from later in the track. There were a few places in other tracks where gaps were repaired by editing, splicing and blending. Fat Man had a repeating thumping noise that soundind a bit like a noise from a vinyl recording. It wasn't possible to toally remove the thumps, but they have been significantly reduced. Originally, the recording was divided into 11 tracks. These were combined into 7 tracks, and the song transitions were smoothed out and blended in. Finally, the recording was re- equalized to improve the bass sound and reduce some excessive high end tone, and the quite heavy hiss was removed. Overall, I think the end result turned out quite well considering that this is a 35 year old recording, and I hope everyone enjoys this classic performance.
