Notes: Lineage: magnetic microphone -> Basf-Recorder 3000 -> Sony Tapedeck -> Terratec DMX 6fire 24/96 -> 24bit audio-mastering -> Feurio -> flac Taper: Erwin Transfer, mastering & artwork: Laufi Photographs provided by: Thomas This is a nearly complete master tape of the 'Thick As A Brick' show at the Münsterlandhalle, Münster from 8.3.1973. After Erwin offered his recording for a transfer & mastering, it was great to find out that he set the tape flips nearly perfect and not very much of the concert was missing. Before working on the recording, I researched other recordings of the gig and finally had four of them in my studio that I got from from various tapers/traders. After comparing them it was obvious that only two different recordings exists: this one plus another one in lower quality that also has the end of the show missing. A few (about three) seconds at the beginning of 'Aqualung' were taken from an about 1st gen. tape of the other recording to have a fill for Erwins tape flip. You'll probably hear this, but anyway: the fill is from the same performance and very short :-) Not very much mastering was done. Some timepitching (tapes were running a bit too fast), then I balanced the levels during the spoken parts -as some of them were rarely understandable- and did a very slight and careful equalizing in the middle range only. Some microphone noises were repaired as well.

Notes: VG+ to EX performance of TAAB on CD1 (somewhat haphazard track division but no gaps). CD 2 has somewhat rare song performances but IMO the performance is pedestrian compared to how the show started. VG Sound Quality.
