JULY 18, 1972 (OPENING FOR THE ROLLING STONES)
JOE MALONEY MASTER RECORDING.
AUDIENCE ANALOG MASTER>CDR>EAC>FLAC
12 tracks. If anyone can help with a set list, it'd be appreciated.
Special thanks to Joe Maloney for making this recording available.
Please do not "Remaster" and then re-post this recording.
Presented to you by KRW&CO, March 2008.
Okay - here's a gesture at the setlist, based on a somewhat distracted workplace listen:
1. Instrumental introduction, w/ band solos (no idea if this theme might have a title)
2. For Once In My Life
3. Band Intros & Vamp> If you Really Love Me
4. If You Really Love Me (continued)
5. Superwoman
6. (?) (might be called 'My Soul's on Fire' - he appears to sing that phrase a few times,
but I'm not familiar with this one)
7. I Got You (I Feel Good)
8. I Was Made To Love Her
9. Love Having You Around (w/ Bass solo) / Talk Box improv
10. Talk box blues instrumental / Harmonica Instrumental / Vocal Improv
11. Keep On Running
12. Signed Sealed & Delivered / Keep On Running (continued)
Revisions/Adjustments/Corrections are welcomed.
I;m suprised that he didn't run out of tape.
This was the night that Keith got busted in Rhode Island and they started hours late.
We were there in the garden waiting and this Stevie Wonder guy
(who by then we mostly only knew from "Fingertips Pt 1&2", kept playin & playin & playin &....
It was pretty good but we were there to see the Stones.
Finally Mayor Kevin White came out and told us that the Stones had been busted in Rhode Island
and that he'd sprung them (with a call to the governor),
and that he wanted us all to be good and calm because he had a riot going on in hispanic East Boston
and he needed to take all the cops out of the venue.
We waited over an hour more, playing with free fisbees and footballs that they'd given the crowd.
The Stones finally came after midnight and played a set that was full of angry energy.
That wasn't a bad thing at all, and neither was Stevie's extended set.
