"Nice recording but surrounded by a bit of a noisy crowd, they were mostly noisy between songs. I tried my best to lower the level at those points during the transfer, but I didn’t bat a thousand, so if you listen to this with headphones get ready to grab your head at a few points. If you read anything about the venue at this show, you will read about 1000 plus people standing butts to nuts in a room where the air conditioning had been turned off, supposedly at Tom’s request. This made taping a bit of a challenge. Another taping challenge was that the music's volume wasn't very loud, so setting high levels for the music also amplified the crowd around me. The sound improved in the hall as the show progressed. The crowd also gets less intrusive for the most part. I think this is still a nice listen. This was my first Waits show and he did not disappoint. Tracks done on the fly so they might not be perfect. If you use longer media, drop the last track on disc one, and the first track on disc two for a seamless show. Enjoy" |
